This little Gibson amp is basically a Fender Tweed Champ clone, but with some minor changes to the circuit, this attains a very different tone.

It has way less of that fizzy quality of the Champ and features a much warmer, bigger, tone that is a perfect match for bluesy riffs.

It has a nice and warm clean tone and the overdriven tones sound as thick and creamy as peanut butter.

It is also one of our favorite small amps to run with pedals.

The set includes 24 full captures that were recorded through the built in Jensen 8″ speaker and the mics used were 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87. Please refer to the full list of included captures in the product photo section.

Unbelievable!!

Out of all the amps in amalgam’s collection, this is the only one that I have had the pleasure of owning. I’ve played this amp continuously since I first got it from my cousins boyfriend back in the 80’s. In fact, British Audio here in Nashville just serviced it for the first time (it still had the og’ Gibson labeled tubes in it.) All I can say is that this capture set is so accurate it almost brought tears to my eyes.
