It might be the most iconic tone of all the MRSH amps ever produced and an amp that has been tirelessly requested by our customers.
We are stoked to have found a particularily great sounding one. It has been gigged and loved a lot and it has seen things… As there is some red substance of uncertain origin on the right side of the amp, we gave it the nickname “Bloody Mary”.
This model has been used by pretty much every rock and hard rock band at some point in their career, but two of our personal standouts are Guns N Roses and Rage Against the Machine, of which you also can hear the demos included in the product picture section.
This amp lives in the crunch and drive territory and sounds at its best exactly in that range. It is certainly more tailored towards humbucker guitars, but there are quite a few good settings for single coils too.

Disappointment, free models on ToneNet are so much better
Maybe it is these models being v1, might be it is the capture process with low output signal, but dynamic diapason is super limited with plenty of artifacts in the resulting sound. v2 models on ToneNet are much better now.

I knew these captures were phenomenal, but I had no idea they were so phenomenal! I found what I was looking for, and all the sounds I had before are subject to removal! Tonex has taken on a new level & meaning!

I had already purchased the JCM800 capture for the TONEX with cabinet from Amalgam. This time they innovated, as they made the captures without a cabinet and included IR's in the package for us to use, which made the product sensational. High timbre fidelity! In fact, Amalgam is the best in capturing tones for TONEX.

Killer tones!
Purchased the essential cab pack after being unsatisfied with Neural's captures then decided to by the Core DI and Expansion DI, and can't be more pleased. Super easy to dial in, and includes some great 1960A Ir's. Amalgam Audio consistently delivers the best captures, and are my go-to for third-party purchases. I'll be playing with these all weekend.

There are plenty of JCM 800 captures out there, but so far this are the best I have found, the edge of breakup is just insane!

I love the jcm800 model in the QC. But this capture is better. I think it is the Marshall cabinet. It roars and has an extra girth in the low mids that is very commanding.

I've tried hundreds of captures over the past year, and let me tell you that THIS IS THE ONE pack that nails the JCM800 sound. I own a real Marshall stack and being able to have that sound ready to go and play gigs without having to carry my stack or risk it, is truly a thing of beauty. I am in the middle of a Gary Moore trip down memory lane - not his blues stuff from the 90s, but his rock stuff from the 80s. And this amp delivers that tone in spades. It sounds fantastic and if you're a fan of 80s hard rock guitar tones you should check this out.

This thing does the thing! What I’m talking about is that upper mid, percussive Marshall sound that is ingrained in our minds from countless recordings. Classic, but still capable of modern sounds too.
Great JCM800 captures covering all the tone range
I've used in the past other studio JCM800 captures, but once tested these one, I can confirm that their quality is the best available on the market. The captures cover all the tone range from clean to dirt, from crunch to lead tones. Great tone thickness, they can be used for live and recording performances!!!

Best JCM800 captures!
I’ve tried MANY JCM captures both free and pro, these are outstanding! Amalgam are the only captures that need little to no adjustment. They are fantastic!

….if it fits to your production. Otherwise, like in my case it’s useless. Amalgam has a lot of very fine amps but sadly every amp I really wanted to have (like this one) doesn’t have the DI-captures available and I can’t fit the Amalgam’s cab and miking to my get the sound I need for my productions. Now I have only a few options to get the sound right but with the DI’s there would be almost limitless options to get the sound right. I can see that a lot of these essential packs are coming out but what we really need is the DI-versions please! For me the Amalgam’s DI-captures are always 5 stars and Essential packs 3 stars at best.

This amp rocks for ages!
I've used this amp now for a couple of weeks and it still amazes me. I have more than a few of the amalgam captures and I'm very pleased with the collection. However this one stands out in a big way for me. I play a Gibson ES-335 and the tones in the JC800 pack work so well with the humbuckers! I do hope Amalgam will make more captures that are so well suited for humbuckers.

I have trief MANY MANY Captures and Amps modelled after the JCM800 since I am a huge 80s Rock Fan and I wanted to sound just like greats of this certain era. I NEVER found an Amp that I was satisfied with completely and always thought there is something missing. This Capture has it all. I am playing the thin cab model with a Charvel and other Humbucker guitars and add a Tubescreamer capture as boost in front of it. What a sound!

I had a track I was working on for a US client that just wasn't working for me tone-wise until I re-amped with this set and the difference was night and day! Blown away by this one
This pack of JCM800 captures is stunningly good. There's a free sample of the Crunch/Fat capture on ToneNET - go check it out. So, based on that I knew the pack was going to nail searing, driven Marshall tones. What I didn't expect was how good some of the clean and edge-of-breakup tones were, even with single coils, and especially using volume roll-off. I meant to play for 15 minutes, and ended up staying on the Clean and Crunch captures for an hour-plus in sonic, musical bliss. All the packs are good, but this is a must-have if you like classic rock, guitars, or life.
