FNDR TWDLX 1957

FNDR TWDLX 1957

Price range: 15.00 € through 18.00 €

There’s barely any other amplifier line that could have as good of a claim to be the most recorded amp on the planet as the Fender Deluxe series. The Tweed Deluxe amps of the 50’s are the stuff that legends are made of. It has been utilized for fabled records by so many big names of Rock&Roll history that it is futile to try and list them, but names like Neil Young, Don Felder and Billy Gibbons should be at the top of the list.

This small amp is deceptively versatile despite its simple controls and low wattage. In the studio it turns into a beast. It has a very organic, wooly, but detailed tone with beautiful cleans, edge of breakup and crunch tones. When diming it, it starts to get on the fuzzy side, but it is a beautiful ride with a lot of textures until you reach the point where it implodes into itself.

This particular amp is from the middle of 1957, the most desirable narrow panel era – a true 5E3 with original Output transformer, signal and coupling caps, as well as an original Jensen P12R speaker. Changed PT and electrolytics and a retweed make it the perfect players amp with everything that counts tone-wise well preserved.

The set includes 20 Tone Models ranging from clean to lead gain levels and featuring various EQ settings per gain level. Please refer to the full list of Tone Models in the product pictures.

Crunchy clean

Never had this amp, but now I understand why they rave about it. Crunchy, Edgy and clean in one box.

Billy Gibbons On Tap

I was totally bowled over with these captures. They are great - from clean to timed. It is really easy to get a Billy Gibbons tone and many more. I have never played a tweed deluxe. However, these captures make me want to try one as they are so good and very versatile.

I recommend getting all the Tweeds

The Pro, Super and Deluxe are all sweet as hell.  My favorite changes on the day with the needs of the song but wouldn't want to be without any.

The tone I've been looking for!

Raw, subtle, clean or driven when you want it. Right at your fingertips. So responsive, so much the essence of rock music in its early days. Great capture, as always, by Amalgam.

Flawless Deluxe!

Just a quick review this time... The sound of this set is just flawless! It has all the great sounds I'd ever want from a tweed deluxe. I love it clean, and for the rest of the gain range, it just gets better! That unique tweed breakup has been so difficult to get right in plugins, more so than most other amps. But THIS is just RIGHT! I've been wanting one of these amps for years, and I might still buy a kit and build one some day. But now I can have this flavour in my recordings, and noone will ever guess it's a captured model :-D Thanks Amalgam!

Love it!

Currently, I have all the NAM profiles except for two Marshall Extended packs. Everything Amalgam puts out is excellent, but this might be my favorite so far. The quality and care that go into these captures is unmatched. After discovering Amalgam, I can honestly say my search for an amp in the DAW is over. These sound and respond exactly like a real amp, and far are superior to any plugin I've tried. I'm thrilled with all of my purchases and happy to support Amalgam. I hope we'll see NAM releases for the Fender Vsup and Magn Dusk in the near future! Thank you, Amalgam!

Sounds like an old deluxe.

A great set of captures which sound and feel like an old 5e3. Even more fun can be had if you use a dimed one without cab into a second capture of this set, with its cab. That gets you someway towards the Neil Young sound.

Awesome Tweedy Goodness

This pack has a great range from pristine cleans to fuzzed out Tweed. I was expecting to love the overdrive sounds, but I did not expect to love the cleans as much as I do. Prepare to lose hours of your life with it. It may be my favorite clean sound ever. Very happy with this purchase!
