The REC series by MES has become synonymous with many heavy sounds of the 90’s and it has since gained a steady reputation as one of the go-to amps for heavy music genres.
The SREC is a bit warmer sounding and gainier compared to the TREC that we also have in our catalog. The REC amps have a very distinct fuzzyness to the tone that needs to be balanced in order not to overtake the tone. Once it is dialed in, these amps are a thing of beauty.
The SREC still does not have abundance of usable gain – in many cases it will profit from a pedal in front to tighten it up and give it a bit more love. This capture set has been created with that in mind.
There are captures with an 808 included, but there is a big variation of captures, in particular of the second (red) channel in high gain region, that can be taken to where you want to sculpt your tone further with pedals of your choice.

Fine, but ...
Nothing to say about the capture quality of this super-heavy amp. I'd have liked smoother tones, which this amp is perfectly capable of. It's really heavy and metal. But most users will be looking for that, and they won't be disappointed.

controlled and nuanced, it really breathes also in high gain territories! LP - middle postion, dialing back a little first pickup - there you are and you won't leave ;)
Fire breathing captures
The Single Rectifier is a beast of an amp. AA has tamed this beast by dialling it in perfectly for all our heavy, crushing needs. The low end is beautifully tight without a hint of any flub. The low mids got that powerful Rectifier characteristic that the series is so well known for. Trust me these fire breathing captures will exceed all you heavy high gain needs.
SREC For The Win
I have not heard anything capture the crushing Mesa rectifier sound like the Amalgam SREC. The three dimensional complexity coming from your 5th and 6th strings is astonishing. Buy this!
Lush heaviness
That wonderful low mid space thumping you in the chest is so well represented here. HEAVY but controlled. Amazing.
