This amp requires no introduction. It is one of the very first boutique takes on a classic design.
By many it is considered to be the epitome of the best version of an AC30 style amp.
Though being based on this britisch classic, it still retains a very unique MTCH style voice – it has a certain musical steely quality to the top-end and holds together beautifull when going higher in the gain range thanks to increased filtering and some other tweaks.
It’s a modern classic for a good reason.

This DI capture pack is the core go to for VOX sound. One to rule them all. The absolute best Sampson amp sound in my, and many others opinion. This paired with a York Audio Matchless 2x12 IR is sensational. Amalgam DI captures are the best.
Classic AC30 style tones
If you love the AC30 tones, then you can’t go wrong with these. I use the Amalgam AC30 captures on ToneX, but these made more sense for me with the different pricing structure on this format. Does the U2 thing as well as ballsy mid gain rhythm tones. Everyone should have an AC30 style set in their collection and Amalgam capture them very well.
Amazing tone, more Matchless needed!
Any hope you’ll make captures for Matchless Lightning? I keep thinking that it is a true jewel for cleans ang slightly driven experimental and ambient guitar tones equipped with any kind of pickups, one of the best 3D sounding Matchless. And sure, your capture technics would make it timeless.
Great tones in expansion DI
Bought the core package of this HC-30 first, was blown away so I had to buy the expansion too. As expected just awesome!

Great sounds
I have many Amalgam captures. At least half of them. This amp goes great with the Stratocaster. Clean and edge sounds are the best for you. Also, I use Amalgam's captures for pedaling. I recommend buying them too, if you haven't already tried them. I was hoping that amalgam would make a bigger package of pedals with more captures for each pedal. These Amalgam captures are from another planet compared to the others.

I don't have Matchless amps for reference, but the captures sound great. They have a nice Vox sound, both clean as well as with more gain.
Beautiful tones
Killer cleans and mid gain sounds. I most use clean and low gain sounds and love this set. I could these for almost everything. I have most sets and this is definitely in my top 3.
Heavenly overdriven and edge of breakup tones
Let's get one thing out if the way, the clean captures in this pack are fantastic. Now on the fun stuff....the overdriven and edge of breakup tones are just phenomenal. This is where this Matchless truly shines. Lush and organic tones that retain the detail of every note in a vivid musicality. This amp is quickly becoming my favourite for bluesy to rock tones These captures by AA will make you not want to put your guitar down.
Outstanding as usual
Played with an Am Pro II Strat and Epi IBG 59 for an hour through the MTCH HD30. So many usable tones. Killer
