SPRO DUAL 1958

SPRO DUAL 1958

15.00

Valco made a name for themselves with a very wide line-up of guitr amps spread out through a myriad of brands, of which the most recognized became SPRO. SPRO amps were played by many blues players in the 50’s and 60’s and were a good alternative on a tighter budget to Fender amps.

Even names like Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page have played these amps and from the whole lineup the SPRO the DUAL became the most widely recognized and iconic piece.

This here is an extremely rare early 6V6 version, which has a bigger, meaner crunch and more gain on tap due to the easily overdriving 6V6 tubes.

Nonbody knows what exactly Jimmy Page used for the First Led Zeppelin albums in the studio, but it is clear that the 1×12 DUAL is the most probable candidate despite many differing quotes by the man himself and various online articles. Either way, this little beast will get you darn close to those tones and more

It has that SPRO raunch on higher settings and can get really massive sounding without caving in. But it also has wonderful chimey cleans that open up new dimensions even to the humbucker pickup sound.

The set includes 19 AMP+CAB Tone Models that go from clean to lead and features different EQ settings for each gain level. Please refer to the full list of Tone Models under the product pictures

Awesome slightly left of center tones

When I need something less typical this is my go to.  I love this set!  Has quirky and raunchy but also beautiful and useful.

Sounds like an amazing Supro

When you need this sound it's right here. Blends beautifully with other sounds and can pop out when necessary. A must have for the arsenal

very characterful capture

This one is a lot of fun to play. The Zep captures in particular also fit really easily into mix. Highly recommended.

exactly what I was looking for!

These full-rig captures have some real magic to them. There's just something about this technique that imparts more of a realistic feel and sound to me- a well-miked cab gives the signal chain some air and life. SO GLAD you are capturing this way. DI may give more versatility but then you are piecing parts back together and I think you can feel that sometimes. These full-rigs FEEL and sound like the real amp because they ARE, all in one package. This one is great, it's definitely got the Supro flavor!
