StoryTime episode in the amp

It is a very difficult task to innovate while remaining true to classic tones. Divided by 13 have pulled it off in a way like no one else has.

The FTR37 is an amp that truly combines British and American tones in a unique mixture. The result is a very harmonically rich and complex amp that has a firm and punchy low-end, prominent, but clear and open mids and a high end reminiscent of a blend of Fender and VOX.

The gainier and middier Channel I gives you all the gain you would ever need. Channel II, considered to be the American side of the amp, is in itself a mixture of the best attributes of British and American classic tones. Channel II will give you some wonderful clean and Edge of breakup tones that are fantastic for snappy chords and funky riffs.

When going into overdrive, this amp exhibits an extremely complex and harmonically rich tone that almost sounds like there would be two amps in the game.

This is one of the amps that truly justifies the term “Boutique”.

The set features 30 full captures that were recorded through the matching /13 2X12 cab with Celestion G12H and UK made Alnico Blue speakers. The mics used were 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87. Please refer to the full list of included captures in the product photo section.

magical midrange!

i own a lot of amalgam’s captures (they just all sound so phase-coherent) and over months of gigging and trying different ones in a band context and for recording, this one just stands out in terms of midrange and the “right” kind of chime. it has that beautiful tweed midrange spread that is just wonderful and characterful for low to mid gain parts. highly recommend this one if you find fenders too scooped and lacking midrange punch in a band mix, and that vox/matchless tone being a little spiky in the upper mids. i can’t wait for V2 versions of this amp!

Another win for AmalgamAudio. A special mixture that will inspire!

This Amp gives the best of two worlds. Sounding like a mixture of Marshall and Fender, it has a unique character, that I really love. This amp can go from soft to funky by just picking a little harder and it is very dynamic. It also takes pedals very good. All I can whish for with this amp, is a DI Set. Thank you Karlis for another inspiring set of captures!
