The brown face era Fender Deluxe amp was a short-lived but the more so legendary amp in the Fender line-up. It spanned the transition from the Tweed Deluxe to the Deluxe Reverb, all of which are mainstays in studios and live to this day.

The Brown Deluxe 6G3 circuit excells equally well in the clean and edge of breakup department, as well as in the crunch and drive gain ranges. It is incredibly well balanced and makes the transition from clean to dirt a lot of fun, as it has nice amount of compression and touch sensitivity that allows the user to play with it’s dynamics easily. It has a very complex sound, lots of harmonics, even when clean(ish) and when you crank it up, it delivers a very good foundation for rhythm style crunchy chords or a great basis for rock style riffing.

A deceptively simple amp that is extremely versatile. This model has been used to great extent by many legends in very different roles, but it is most known for its use by ZZ-Top. It will equally feel at home with Mark Knopfler style strat runs on the cleanish department or fork out some of the best Rolling Stones style chords you can find in any amp.

Sounds just like I remember

A while back I heard a brown face deluxe in Vintage and Rare in Bath. Wonderful sound. These captures sound just like that. I went for the full captures rather than the DI and don't regret it, but I've also got a DI of this amp in the ampkit 3 and that also sounds great with the included DI. I think this and the brownface bassman are my two favourite captures from Amalgam.

This one just does it...

I recently sold my own personal 62 Deluxe as I am simply playing my quad cortex more and do not have the ability to play real amps at volume like I used to. This pack was the nail in the coffin for selling that amp. I am so thankful to have this in my account, I am immediately transported back to playing that amp when I use these captures. Now as soon as NDSP will release a bias or harmonic tremolo we will be in MUCH better shape.

The best Amalgam Audio capture yet!

This pack is sensational! The Brownface era Fender sound is one of the most characterful and desirable tones for recording and stage, yet it is EXTREMELY hard to get right in a digital format. Thanks to the power of TONEX modelling and the detail of Amalgam’s capture process, this set does it perfectly! I’ve purchased many Amalgam Audio captures. They are all fantastic and I use them as part of my live rig with TONEX pedal and a midi switcher. But I can honestly say that this set is quite possibly all I needed! It does every classic rock tone you can think of from clean to fuzzy. And there is a great amount of captures considering how limited the original amp is. Great job!

Sounds Superb!!

Easily one of the very best captures sets you guys have produced. Stunning clean and EOB tones as you might expect, however the glorious drive settings are well worth exploring too. They were a very welcome surprise for me never having played the real amp. Instant purchase after I saw Fabian's excellent demo too....give him a wage rise! :-)
