FNDR TWBM 1957

FNDR TWBM 1957

Price range: 15.00 € through 20.00 €

Well, this is easily the most iconic guitar amp in history, period.

It is also one of the most desirable and valuable vintage amps around.

This is because it has forever changed the landscape of electric guitar and is the most copied circuit, which was not only the starting point for Marshall, but many other brands used it as a spring-board.

Although the JTM45 is an almost identical clone of the 5F6-A, they sound VERY different. The Tweed Bassman has a more scooped EQ, totally different kind of scoop than in the later Blackface amps, it is a lot warmer than those, warmer and less sophisticated in every good meaning of the word.

The original 4X10 Jensen P10R speakers that this amp was captured through are also in a large part responsible for this amps unique and characteristic sound. It always sounds very clear without ever sounding harsh, which is a rare qality in itself and comes in a big part from the original speakers.

It does sound unique compared to every other Tweed amp and always displays a very punchy, powerful, raunchy, but still controlled and musical quality. It does have a bassy character, but it is more in the punch region and doesn’t get in the way.  You literally feel the notes, even in a recording or a capture. It has a very nice and smooth compression and some musical sag at the extreme settings when dimed. But it never gets into the fuzz territory like many other tweeds and always stays strong and controlled.

There is nothing this amp can’t do well – cleans, edge of breakup, crunch, even cranked it just roars. Takes pedals with ease, always keeping its punchy character while at it.

So there is no surprise that the user list of this amp is like the hall of fame of electric guitar players: SRV, Rory Gallagher, Joe Bonamassa, ZZ-Top, Buddy Guy, Eagles, Pearl Jam, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Otis Rush, Albert Collins, Merle Haggard, Sue Foley, Paul Kantner, Jerry Miller and it goes on and on.

The set includes 24 AMP+CAB captures ranging from clean to lead and featuring various EQ settings. Please refer to the full list of Tone Models under the product pictures.

WOW!

I'm really impressed how open this capture sounds even on the higher gain settings. Plug in some P-90s and lose a few hours. I could never get my real '59 Bassman LTD to break up without my ears bleeding, so I moved it along and got this to scratch the itch. It's not fair to compare a real amp to a capture, but I must say Carlis found an excellent example and the speakers in this one have an unreal frequency response that's way less congested in the mids than the current Fender reissue Jensens.

Highest quality captures out there!

These profiles sound fantastic.  I’ve purchased numerous packs from the usual suspects, and have been relatively happy with what I get.  But after stumbling across Amalgam products and giving them a try, all other profiles have been retired.  This Bassman pack is outstanding and has become my go to.  Everything is so well thought and laid out, which makes finding the sound you want a breeze.  Now I’m just waiting for that blonde Bassman!????????

absolutely amazing

Please note first that I‘ve used only the DI parts of the rigs and combined them with my own IRs in studio. For me the liquid Kemper packs are amazing. They are extensive, very versatile, sound great and in combination with my IRs it feels like playing the real amp. The documentation is also very good. They are absolutely worth the price. Double thumb up from my side. I want definitely more.

Responsive and transparent

These captures provide an excellent starting point for the Strat sounds I've been craving. I use Fluence PUs and these captures are very responsive to volume and tone tweaks on my guitar. Much more so than the extensive plugin collection I own. From ambience to disco to crunch rhythm playing - I reckon these may well become my goto pedal platform for Strat sounds

Vintage Growl

This is really authentic and there are a ton of great EQ and gain options. It sounds great with the included IR, and using other IRs brings out other great characteristics. This is DI which for me is how I use my ToneX. This sounds great through my PA and through my oversized 2x12 V30/Creamback amp/cab.

best of all

Bought like 10-11 amp captures from amalgam , by far I like this one the most, followed by the Marshall plexi. Also for blues the Fender VSup was a an amazing surprise

Awesome!

I love the sound of pissed off Tweeds, and that is primarily why I bought this pack. What surprised me was loving the cleans. The entire range of captures is excellent and has me contemplating buying the actual amp. Hopefully that urge passes! Great work.
