I knew these captures were phenomenal, but I had no idea they were so phenomenal! I found what I was looking for, and all the sounds I had before are subject to removal! Tonex has taken on a new level & meaning!

Well, this is it – the ultimate Plexi set of an original 1969 MRSH Plexi SL wit whopping 44 captures included that range from Clean to face melting lead tones and everything in between.
Practically every big hitter band played one of these during the 60’s and 70’s. Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Free, ZZ-Top, Robin Trower just to name a few of the biggest bands of the era. They burned some of the most iconic rock tones into our brains and ever since this particular year of the Plexi has been associated with “The” sound of Rock and has been played until this day by too many artists to list, but some that spring to mind are EVH, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eric Johnson, J Mascis, Matt Bellamy, George Lynch.
If you want to learn what most people mean when they say the word “Plexi” – this is basically it.
The amp is 100% original and stock, including the big 5000pF bright cap, which i deliberately did not unsolder, as this is just a part of this unique amp design and it’s tone. It has the typical upper midrange emphasis of lead spec MRSH amps. It can do the screechy top-end thing and there are captures included, which do that, but it also can be easily tamed to a mid focussed, but rather balanced, warm, dynamic tone with the right amount of compression.
To get good clean and edge of breakup tones, the channels NEED to be jumpered and then it is time for fishing for the right sweet-spots. When there, it does also beautiful clean and edge of breakup tones, with it’s characteristic peak in the mids.
With pedals it behaves differently than any other amp i have tried. Due to the monstrous bright cap, it is hard to get an overdrive tone out of it – it either sounds not that great or has to be cranked up more, where the bright cap has less or no effect and the tone fills out beautifully. At that point the amp will be in proper high gain lead territory, even with mild overdrive pedals in front at tame settings. This amp just wants to rock, to put it in other words. The pedal platform capture that is included in the set works great with a Tube Screamer and a Bluesbreaker for example, but some pedals can sound dreadful. It is a trial and error thing. Once you find one that works well with it, it sounds great. For lead levels of overdrive, you can try any of the fuller sounding crunch and dimed captures for good results.
Along with the FNDR BFDLX this is a larger than usual set for the Essentials format – this is due to the high expectations, many epplications and genres and versatility of the amp.
The amp was tracked through the an original 1968 MRSH 1960A cab with G12M25 75Hz Pulsonic coned speakers, the mics used are 2X Royer R121, 1X Beyerdynamic M160 and 1X Neumann U87.

This is the one you're looking for...
If you need the sound that defined an era, this is the one! These are top notch captures and take minimal time to dial in. I've been recently putting these through their paces on a Nano Cortex and I'm happy to report they work great and sound awesome.
My favorite
I had no idea the guitar tone I had been searching for was a Marshall Plexi, but wow I love these captures. I use the Tonex pedal through the FX Loop of my Helix. I place the Helix Super OD and Timmy in front and I'm good to go.

Super Lead for super tones
Big fan of this release. So much so that I have DI, DI expansion and full capture versions for both Quad Cortex and ToneX. Simply the best Marshall Plexi model for 70’s and 80’s rock tones.
absolutely amazing
Please note first that I‘ve used only the DI parts of the rigs and combined them with my own IRs in studio. For me the liquid Kemper packs are amazing. They are extensive, very versatile, sound great and in combination with my IRs it feels like playing the real amp. The documentation is also very good. They are absolutely worth the price. Double thumb up from my side. I want definitely more.
Can't go wrong
This set in amazing, it's good for anything. It really show why the SuperLead is probably the greatest amp ever made. The sound is bold and the IR that comes with it helps to deliver the magic. I have several captures from AA, all are good, but this one is probably the most versatile
I don't have to change the tubes in my Superlead anymore...
Because these captures sound just as good as my original '71 Superlead! We just need a José modded Super Tremolo now, and then I can put all my tube amps in the closet. Really-really great captures!
Base Tone for my Sounds.
1st purchased and I am already very impressed. Using a HSS Suhr, this gets to where I want to be.

The “all on 10” setting is a joy to the ears, there’s not a bad setting in this pack, probably my personal favourite of the packs I’ve downloaded so far!!!
Beauty
I bought 5 new yesterday. Opened this one first. Still haven't moved from the very first capture I randomly opened, not even changed EQ a bit. That is how good it sounds and plays.
Another classic
I had the full capture set of this amp from amalgam already, but this just has this tiny bit of extra magic to it. I own many captures from amalgam, but this is my absolute favorite right now. At the moment I switch between the TK Imperial, this amp and the deluxe Rvrb (All Amalgam-Captures). What an absolute pleasure. Thank you for the great tones and hopefully a TK Royalist will be available in the future. One can dream...
Marshall SL 100 for those classic tones!
This set of captures has been used for my ”basic” Marshall preset, as well as my (early) Van Halen preset. Pretty damn awesome!I probably should have waited for the DI version, so I could have combined the amp captures with even more cabs for even more tones, but then Iwould have to give 6 stars :-)
Best sounding/feeling Marshall captures.
Been using this pack for live and recording sessions and it sounds and feels just like my old marshall does. Its amazing that I don't have to carry my Halfstack anymore since I got the sound now in pedal format (tonex). Playing now has become fun again since this thing sounds so good, it's inspiring.
Best Marshall capture so far
I've bought a few Marshall captures from Amalgam and while all sound and play great, this set is the best so far - it really is THE classic rock tone!

The ultimate Plexi tone
For me it’s the “plexi” tone ! A desert island amp both the DI and the full capture set You did an amazing job capturing that one for sure! A must have !!
And there I was, thinking nothing would beat the Super Bass Capture...
Well... What can I write about this amp capture? besides it got along with all my 4 guitars without twisting a knob... just choose the right capture and that's it. You are good to go. From Strats throaty sounds to ES 335 chunky leads... This amp is the ultimate rock n roll machine in analog realm... and thanks to Amalgam, now in the digital world!

Totally blown away by this new set of Marshall captures from you guys. Your video taster clip playing 'All Right Now' etc. really caught my attention, as it was so close to the sound I have been after for years. This set really is 100% 'that sound'!
