The MRSH JT45 1966 capture set strives to recreate the tones of the amp model that started the whole Marshall line and made it the standard for Rock and Blues in the 60’s – an original Marshall JTM45 from 1966 with Drake 8K primary Output Transformer, NOS GEC KT66, NOS Mullard 12AX7 tubes and Mullard GZ34 rectifier.

We were fortunate enough to acquire an extremely rare original early JTM50 (still featuring the JTM45 style chassis and faceplate) with the GZ34 rectifier. As the schematics of both amps are literally identical, including the filter cap values and configuration, it was a big surprize how different these two amps sound.

The JTM45 is definitely a big step closer to it’s 5F6A lineage – it has a more even, and open response, sparklier cleans, deeper extending bass response. The JTM50 has a narrower Frequency response, which makes it more mids focused, it has less sparkle and a tighter bass. The JTM50 Drake Output transformer and the introduction of the EL34 is the quintessential step into the iconic Marshall sound, while the JTM45 is like a first step between the 5F6A and the EL34 based Marshall line.

It is ideal for full bluesy tones. It is the famous Beano amp played by Eric Clapton, it was one of the amps used by AC/DC in their early days (e.g. Ballbreaker) and Pete Townshend was among the first users and even initiators of the design.

But before it gets to some of the most beautiful crunch tones ever, it also has some of the most beautiful cleans of any British or American amp.

I own the real thing...

I have a JTM45.  I was going to spend a bunch of time capturing it.  Don't need to now.  Enough said.

Amazing Marshall tones!

It sounds fantastic, very dynamic and organic. This is my 5th purchased capture from Amalgam Audio and as always the sounds are very inspiring and make a lot of joy while playing. The included IR cabs works perfect with captures giving a lot of tonal options.

Very realistic

The fact that I am in love with the JTM45 sound added to a perfect capture makes playing this presets great. Broad range of options but mot overwhelming. All relevant to have different gains and flabours.

Great Package!

This is a great assembly of clean to dirty captures! Very useful and to tell the truth, all one needs is a guitar with a volume knob and one is set! Highly recommended.

Yannick Bisson

So far, my preferred one

I am still in love with the 100watts as well, but this one is really the best for my own taste.  Good amount of lows, yet enough clarity to have a great great tone.  Combine this with a King of Tone... (I'm spoiled I know..) and you are in guitar tone heaven.

These were the missing link for me

My first reason to move in to QC world was to avoid carryinh around my VHT Pittbull CL 100W combo. It is heavy! Second reason was to get my ears on amplifiers i couldn’t otherwise afford. These captures and IR:s wete last missing thing to achieve my dreams. These are fenomenal. And i believe very truthfull caotures. They’re made perfectly to zero point where you can start to sculpture your own tonal perfection. I absolutely love them. I bought five different setups for the price i wouldn’t allowed even look at those amps. Highly recomended.

Exceptional - just buy it now.

This is an incredible capture set. Clarity is outstanding and the tone is on antoher planet. Think of the best Marshall tone you could ever wish for, then imagine it being even better. As ever, Karlis has done a remarkable job, And just to make it even better, you get the usual PDF with a great explanation of what is included. Within 10 minutes I have created a new preset on my QC with a full range of classic Marshall tones. It's straight into my live set list for all those Classic Rock covers my band does.

Killer captures!!!

This JTM45 sounds awesome! It has become quickly my favorite for the Quad Cortex and my foundation tone for some of the gigs I do. It goes from fairly clean to rippin’ and it’s very articulated and detailed. A must have!!!

JTM Sweetness

I've owned a JTM 45 and this is the real deal!! It has that sweet spongy response that makes a clean and on the edge of breakup sound so good from these amazing amps. I couldn't find any good captures on the cloud until now. Thanks for doing the work to get it just right

Fantastic

I haven’t hit them all yet, but these are some of the best captures I have heard. I love classic amps and these are killer. Do not be afraid to grab them. I am not into modern high gain but amps like this draw me in. Classic is my cup of tea.
